Youth Development: The welfare of young people has been at the core of Filipino Advocates for Justice’s work since our doors opened 35 years ago. We work with over 100 youth annually to build resiliency to risky behavior in favor of positive decision making.

Youth Leadership: Our youth leadership development and organizing project in Union City is called RACE (Regional Alliance for Community Empowerment). RACE trains 3 – 4 youth intern organizers, and has a youth organizing base of 35 – 50 middle and high school youth. In Oakland, Filipino Advocates for Justice is part of the larger youth leaderships collaborative called AYPAL (Asian Pacific Islander Youth Promoting Advocacy and Leadership), a collaborative of 5 Asian ethnic organizations. AYPAL/Filipino Advocates for Justice has 5 – 6 youth intern organizers and an organizing base of 25 – 35 high school youth.
